Garage floor epoxy coating specialists!

While surging in popularity recently, epoxy flooring remains unknown to many people. Although they’ve probably seen it, walked on it, and marveled at it before. Once thought to be something only high-end showrooms had, epoxy flooring is gaining popularity for home garages.

If you thought your car looks awesome now, wait until it’s parked on top of your shiny new epoxy garage floor.

Epoxy flooring is a liquid-to-solid flooring that is poured rather than installed. Typically poured onto a concrete floor, epoxy adheres to the porous surface and stays there. It is extremely versatile, incredibly durable, classy, and easy to maintain.

Benefits of an epoxy garage floor

Garages can be a bit of a messy place. Firstly, it’s typically where you store all of your excess junk. More often than not, it’s also the place where you store your leaky old car, and your musty old firewood. Hey, that’s what garages are for! However, after a few years of dirt, wear, and abuse—that concrete garage floor that you once loved, can’t begin to look a little dingy.

Concrete is a porous surface. That means that it sucks up whatever liquids you throw at it. You know that oil stain that you’ve been trying to get rid of? Ya, that’s probably never going to come out. An incredible way to get a brand-new garage floor that you can be proud of, without springing for new concrete work—is to get an epoxy garage floor.

Here’s a list of all of the benefits of an epoxy garage floor:

STAYS CLEAN

We love the look of a neat and tidy garage—and we’re thinking you do too. That’s one of the great things about epoxy garage floors. It is a completely non-porous surface that is super easy to clean. One pass with the shop broom will get rid of all of that dust and debris. Epoxy flooring is not only great in your garage though—it’s the preferred flooring for high-end car showrooms.

RESISTANT TO LIQUIDS AND STAINS

A garage is a messy place. Dirt, water, oil, chemicals. We keep it ALL in our garages. The beauty of epoxy flooring is that it is completely water and stain resistant. Unlike concrete, which soaks up liquids, epoxy flooring is completely sealed. This is easily noticeable as liquids will pool rather than soak in. That means your floor will remain pristine for years to come.

SURPRISINGLY INEXPENSIVE

Because epoxy flooring can be applied so quickly, and the materials themselves are comparatively inexpensive—epoxy flooring is very cost effective. If you’re looking for a versatile and durable flooring solution that looks great and doesn’t break the bank, epoxy is your best friend.

ZERO MAINTENANCE

Unlike other types of flooring that need to be waxed, buffed, sanded, sealed—epoxy flooring needs NOTHING. Of course, you may want to pass a broom and mop over it once in a while (your garage, your rules), but there is next to no maintenance required to keep your epoxy flooring looking incredible for years to come.

IT LOOKS FANTASTIC

You can add a touch of style and elegance to literally ANY room, with epoxy flooring. There is simply no other flooring system with the glossy, shiny, glass-like appearance of epoxy. It looks great in your garage, kitchen, restaurant, or gym.

ULTRA DURABLE

Epoxy flooring is 3 times more durable than concrete. It’s flexible enough to withstand super heavy machinery without cracking, but tough enough to resist gouging from sharp or heavy objects. Putting an epoxy floor in your garage will ensure that even if you drop that socket wrench from the ceiling, no one will notice.

NO DUST

As epoxy is applied and dried, it doesn’t produce any harmful dusts or contaminants. That means even when you’re hanging out in the confines of your garage, the only air pollutants might be that song from 1975 that you seem to love for some reason.

NON SLIP

Any area where you’re working, using tools, or lifting heavy objects is potentially a hazardous area. An epoxy floor can greatly reduce the risk of slips, trips, and falls due to its grippy, non-slip surface. While this is great for a garage floor, it’s also amazing for a kitchen or bathroom.

CHEMICAL RESISTANT FLOOR

There are chemicals that many of us use every single day that can quickly ruin and eat away at a concrete floor. Whether acids or solvents, concrete is no match without the right protection. A chemical resistant epoxy garage floor is an affordable and durable flooring solution for any garage. Epoxy flooring is considered high-performance—this means it's tough enough for industrial work, but accessible enough for the average consumer.

ANTI SKID FLOORS

Garage floors tend to be a little slick. One of the benefits of having an epoxy floor in your garage is the ability to combine additives into the epoxy mixture. While epoxy is generally considered non-slip to begin with, when there are liquid spills—it can become like glass.

For garage floors, we often recommend the addition of grit compounds. This grit ensures that even when your floor gets wet or oily, its anti-skid properties remain intact. We always recommend safely cleaning up the spill right away.

Our installation process

While there are several different types of garage floor epoxy—the process for their application is very similar for each one. Application of an epoxy garage floor is not complex, however a slight miscalculation with mixing ratios—or a hiccup during installation can mean starting over. For that reason, we think epoxy floor installation is best left to the professionals.

Epoxy application is a 3 step process, and is generally done over the course of 3 days. For a quicker drying option, many commercial properties will go with a solid epoxy. However, to reap all of the benefits of an epoxy floor—shine, gloss, and customization—it pays to wait.

First we prep the flooring for epoxy. This means cleaning and chipping away any loose concrete. We degrease the surface (the stains don’t have to be removed, the surface simply has to be grease free).

We then etch the flooring in order for the epoxy to properly adhere to the concrete floor. We then prime, apply, and top coat the epoxy. The top coat is what gives it that seamless, gorgeous finish.

Garage floor refinishing

If you’re not happy with the way your garage floor is looking, you’re not alone. Unfortunately, many people neglect their garage floor until it’s in bad shape. However, with high quality epoxy floor coating, we can come in and refinish that floor—and have it looking brand new. Our refinishing process is similar to new floor job. Depending on the state of the primer, we may even be able to use your existing primer (if there is any).

Why buy a new floor for your home when you can get yours professionally refinished, and have it looking BRAND NEW?
